Description
What an absolutely gorgeous evening dinner dress this is. It’s from the war years when rationing was
in force and fabrics were hard to come by, so what you could get your hands on would have to do.
It has a shaped bodice that is draped and wrapped one side over the other and then buttoned or you
could press stud instead and add buttons on the outside, a three-piece skirt with lots of fullness
at the back and long fitted sleeves.
There are no fabric suggestions as this was a wartime pattern, so anything you could get your hands
on would have to do. Try Soft velvet or velveteen, satin, Viscose Marocain, anything with drape.
Not recommended for the novice sewer as it has some difficult elements to navigate
