Description
1944 Wartime warm Nurses lined cape. Would be great to knit for reenactment or just if you like capes!
It’s worked in 4 ply on No. 8 and 10 (old UK size) needles.
You work it from the hem upwards and the lining is picked up at the hem and then knitted up, so the
front and back are attached. You then make up by sewing front seams together and then picking up
round neck and knitting a neckband with buttonhole. Colours suggested are Navy for the cape with
either a grey or scarlet lining
You will need 10oz (approx 285g) for the cape and 10oz (approx 285g) for the lining.
MEASUREMENTS: Length 24 inches; width all round hem 72 inches.
TENSION: 6.5 sts. to an inch
The needles are old sizes so I have included a conversion chart to help
Please note you are buying a copy of the pattern, not the original or the finished garment
