1930s Knitting Pattern for a Skirted Swimsuit Bust 32-34

Description

The costume is worked in stocking stitch with borders and straps in moss-stitch. The neat knickers
have sloping legs and are in white. The tunic has a border of light green and white, edged top and
bottom with dark green moss-stitch. A similar border is joined to the top of the tunic. Two light
green straps run from the centre front point, two dark green from the sides and these straps over-
lap in such a way as to give a light strap buttoning over a dark at the back neck. The two back
straps run vertically in the centre, light and dark touching.

The original yarn used was 7 ozs. (200g) “Sunya” Knitting Wool in white, 2 ozs (57g) in Light Green
and 2 ozs. (57g) in dark green. A pair of No. 10 (3.25mm) needles. 2 Pearl buttons.

TENSION: 7 stitches and 9 rows to one inch.

The costume will fit a 32-34 inch Bust
